Quality management

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta assures the quality of its products and services by Total Quality Management (TQM). The framework for this is provided by the regulations of ISO 9001. All plants of ThyssenKrupp Nirosta GmbH are certified on the basis of this standard.

From order processing to procurement, production, inspection, sales and development: ISO 9001 is a universally recognized code covering all relevant processes within a company. Through regular internal and external audits ThyssenKrupp Nirosta reviews and guarantees the effectiveness of its quality management system.

Optimum process control and data documentation are guaranteed by the ThyssenKrupp Nirosta data transmission system. The computers that control our production equipment are connected to this system, which ensures the synchronized flow of information and material. All important data are collected, stored and evaluated in the system.

Advanced quality control methods are used to maintain consistently high product quality. Increasingly, quality inspections are being integrated online into production processes. The results are used directly to optimize process management quality. All ThyssenKrupp Nirosta's laboratories are accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

The corrosion resistance of NIROSTA® steels is checked in standardized tests. In addition, the electrochemical processes, for example during the formation of the corrosion-preventing passive layer, can be visualized precisely using high-sensitivity potentiostats including plotting of current density/potential graphs.

Cold-rolled and bright-annealed coils are monitored continuously for luster and flatness.
