The Stainless Global business area brings together ThyssenKrupp's activities in the areas of stainless steel flat products and high-performance materials, i.e. nickel alloys and titanium.

The business area's operations are steered by the flagship company ThyssenKrupp Nirosta. Other operating companies in the Stainless Global business area are: ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni in Italy, ThyssenKrupp Mexinox in Mexico, ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA and the joint venture Shanghai Krupp Stainless in the People's Republic of China. ThyssenKrupp Stainless International is responsible for all stainless distribution and service activities not directly covered by the production companies in their respective home markets. High-performance materials are the specialty of ThyssenKrupp VDM, a producer of nickel alloys, titanium and titanium alloys.

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta GmbH is the biggest company in the Stainless Global business area. To complete their sales- and service activities serves the division Nirosta Service Center with shops in Wilnsdorf near Siegen, Sachsenheim near Stuttgart, and Langenhagen near Hanover, which were integrated from former independent companies. Thus ThyssenKrupp Nirosta offers its products and services monolithic alongside the value added chain. In addition to this advantage for our customers the hitherto existing convenience of a service center like flexibility, adherence to delivery dates, lot size tailored to suit the market needs will remain in full.

The Wilnsdorf service center maintains a comprehensively stocked warehouse and is a specialist in stainless steel processing. Its acivities comprise slitting of coils and marketing of the cold rolling mills’ products.

The Langenhagen service center has available in-house coil processing facilities which allow sheet to be produced at short notice, also in non-standard sizes. Ground and brushed finishes are available along with special designs through to mirror finish.

The Sachsenheim service center is among the major commercial partner of the stainless steel sector. As a service partner this operation supplies stainless steel products for diverse applications. With the support of highly qualified product specialists this factory distributes processed flat products in various grades, sizes and finishes.

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta Präzisionsband GmbH is producer of precision strip with close tolerances in stainless and heat-resistant steels. The thickness varies from 0,05 mm to 1,5 mm with width up to 650 mm.

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta North America, Inc. has been established to improve service to the North American market. Its favorable location and warehouses in Chicago, Illinois, and Brownsville, Texas, enable ThyssenKrupp Nirosta North America to supply a broad range of quality stainless NIROSTA®-products quickly from stock as a supplement to direct business. Added to this range are products from ThyssenKrupp Mexinox USA, with which ThyssenKrupp Nirosta North America cooperates closely.

With ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA becoming operational this company also markets the products from the  new Alabama plant.
